Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in New York City. She has received training and developed her expertise at Child Mind Institute, New York University, and Massachusetts General Hospital. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of disruptive behavior disorders, ADHD, selective mutism, and other anxiety and mood disorders in young children and adolescents. 

She has expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescents (IPT-A), parent management training (PMT), and is a certified parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) therapist and Within Agency PCIT Trainer. She is additionally certified in an adaptation of PCIT for selective mutism (PCIT-SM). She has particular interest in real-time coaching of parents and teachers to teach them skills to better manage anxious and disruptive behaviors, as well as significant emotion dysregulation.

Prior to starting her own private practice, Michelle was a clinician at the Child Mind Institute for 10 years. She worked within the ADHD and Behavior Disorders Center, Selective Mutism Service, School and Community Programs, and the Research Team. She was a co-founder and director of the Child Mind Institute Summer Program, a 4-week intensive treatment program for children ages 5-10 with ADHD and behavioral, social, or learning issues. 

 

Michelle has extensive experience providing school-based consultation, working collaboratively with teachers and outside providers across New York City to enhance treatment and improve outcomes in the school setting. She has worked in community mental health centers, preventive family counseling, and at numerous therapeutic summer programs for children with mental health and learning disorders. 

Michelle is passionate about integrating clinical practice and research to improve evaluation and treatment methods. She is committed to ensuring that children and their families receive evidence-based treatment that is individualized to their unique needs and goals.
